The Use of Plastic

"First of all i would like to thank God for surrounding us with His pity and mercy because without His power we won’t be able to gather in this room today. And also, With all do respect, i would like to thank the judges for the opportunity and times given so i can stand here and have the chance to speak a couple of words.

Assalamualaikum Wr. Wb...

Good afternoon, ladies and gentleman.
My name is Farah Fitriani, and i’m standing here to represent my class XII.IA.4. in this chance, i’m going to discuss the use of plastic.

Nowadays, we all know that plastic is very important in our life. Many things made from plastic, and plastic can be transformed to many things. Plastic is very useful and has many advantages. For example, if we go to a market, we’ll use plastic bag to put all things we buy. We also use plastic hanger to hang our clothes in the wardrobe. Even plastic can be used to prison metal man in X-MEN movie! That’s is just a few example about the use of plastic.

People need plastic because plastic is a good substance. Water can’t go through plastic, so it can cover things in it and won’t get wet. That’s why we always use plastic bags all the time. Plastic also very flexible. Therefore it can be transformed to many things. Furthermore, plastic isn’t heavy, so people can carry it easily.

Despite the advantages of it, plastic causes many problems in our life, whether we realize that or not. Global Warming, Climate Changes, Flood, and other global issues came from plastic. It’s hard to believe, it is, but it’s totally true. Plastic is hard to be loose by fungus and other microbes, so after we use and throw, it will stay on the earth for thousand years before it can be apart and that polutes the earth. The land will be not fertile anymore, plants will die and we won’t be able to replant it. Also, The loosing process produce a chemical substance to the air, and makes the weather hotter than before.

Now we know that plastic is very dangerous to human life and earth too. I watched 11th hour, and it said that all human will be extincted because of themself, but the earth will stay and renew itself. This plastic thing, is something that people do to break the earth and extinct themself slowly. We might don’t care to the earth (whereas we have to), but we must care to our life, musn’t we? We don’t want to be extincted, do we?

Eventhough now is the 11th hour of our extinction, we still can do something. Let’s start from ourself, and from the smallest thing. Don’t use plastic. If you go to the market, bring your own bag. if you want to hangout, bring your own drink with your bottle, so you won’t buy mineral water and throw the plastic bottle. If you have many dry plastic trash, try to reduce, reuse, or recycle it. Remember, simple things can be a big affect to our life. And slowly but sure, we will make the earth a better place than before. So, can we live without plastic? Yes we can.

sebenarnya msh ada substan yang paling parah selain plastik, yaitu stereofoam. wah itu gila banget mamen. selain ga bs diuraikan sm mikroba2, stereofoam juga ga bagus banget2 buat makanan. apalagi, buat jd wadah makanan berlemak. bisa menyebabkan kanker! parah abs ga sih? tapi ironis banget yah, skr wadah stereofoam justru merajalela abs, lbh merajalela drpd wadah plastik mika dn wadah kertas minyak (yg buat nasi bungkus). DOH! bahkan skr, batagor aja pake stereofoam! bayangkan saudara saudara! idih! bumbu kacangnya kan berlemak banget, bisa kena kanker betulan ntar kita!
amannya, kalo mo jajan, bagus makan langsung dtmpat. kalo trpaksa dibungkus, ya bawa tmpt bekel sndri. tapi mslhnya, berani ga kita berkeliaran bawa2 tmpt bekal? pasti malu2in bgt kan???
aku berencana mw nulis2 ttg stereofoam ini. ayo2 yang punya bahan tulisan ttg bahaya stereofoam, kasih tau aku dong....
